It's Not Too Expensive, You're Too Cheap

Are you cheap?
Well, maybe you are and maybe you aren’t.
My guess is that you’re not cheap, you're just placing your chips on the wrong side of the table.

What does that even mean?  Doesn't matter, move past it.
As a salesperson and advocate for health and fitness (something most forget to invest in), I run into the “I can’t afford it” bit all the time.
What’s pee-my-pants hysterical to me is these are usually the same people who go to Starbucks several times a week, can’t pass up a sale at Macy’s and would just die before they drank house vodka over Grey Goose.
It may seem insignificant, but $4 coffee and $11 cocktails definitely add up.
And as usual, I always make a point in saying that I fully understand financial hardships. In fact you probably saw me on T.V. last year. Believe me, I get it.
I would, however, like to target the audience members who say they can't afford to get rid of back pain, but through some miracle of God are wearing a new pair of Prada loafers.
Yeah, YOU! All Prada-ed out, drinking your 10th Starbucks of the week—you can afford it.

Here’s a list of five things I think are so damn important, you can’t afford NOT to invest in them.
No. 1: Chiropractic Care
Consider your nervous system the mother board of your body. It’s full of switches, each controlling a certain function of the body. All from digesting food to muscular control to problem solving. Everyday living, whether it’s exercise, sitting at your desk, poor posture, eating unhealthy foods, breathing/consuming chemicals, etc, all can turn these switches to the "off" position. If it’s off, it’s not going to work properly. Chiropractic can realign the system, turning these “power switches” back on. And if you think you can’t afford it, check out Dr. Jason Bauer and Dr. Travis Johnson and their amazing unlimited adjustment program for less than 100 bucks per month!!
No. 2: Massage
Tight muscles are not fun. Do you agree? Back pain, headaches, knots—OUCH!
Bad news is, they won’t go away on their own. Good news is, you have a few options. Hire a massage therapist to do the work for you. Another option, buy a foam roller. This tool, combined with self myofascial release, will break those knots up and get rid of your pain.
No. 3: Vitamins and Supplements
Here’s something controversial. Some say that as long as you eat a well-rounded diet, you get all the nutrients you need. Others, like me, say no way!  Even if you could get all the nutrients from a well-rounded diet, do you think most people eat the right foods in order to accomplish that? Nope!  However, be careful when selecting supplements. None are regulated by the FDA and definitely not all are created equal. Do your homework by reading Comparative Guide to Supplements, a nonbiased book about the top-rated supplements. I take USANA and they are the bomb!
No. 4  Fitness Coach/Health Coach/Someone to get your ass in gear Coach
No, I’m not just saying this because I happen to be a coach. Hiring a fitness coach/personal trainer can be a great investment for those who haven’t a clue about how to get fit and healthy. If you need motivation and don’t know the difference between a squat and a bicep curl, maybe look into one. Again, do your homework. This article will help when selecting: “How Good Is Your Trainer?”
No. 5 Local and Organic Foods
Am I really telling you this again? Yes, yes I am.
Buying local and organic can be more expensive, but if you saw the types of chemicals and the practices used with other ways of producing, you wouldn’t even think twice about the extra buck or two you’re spending.  If you can't make it to one of the many local Farmer's markets, check out Specialty Produce for a killer steal on fresh, local organic stuff.  Yum!
Your health should be a priority in your life. Spend money on prevention not damage.
